Landfill is an area of construction long associated with The Pryor Group. Construction of landfill sites must meet extremely high specifications to conform to all the standards set out by the Environment Agency and other authorities.
Construction of cells differs from site to site and depends on the geology of the area, the water table and any adjacent rivers or other water courses. The Group brings its specialist skills into play when constructing cells to exacting tolerances, such as laying liners and membranes to prevent gas and leachate leakage and installing pipework and wells for gas and leachate extraction.
We also provide landfill cell capping, which seals the waste in the landfill cell and prevents any uncontrolled gas leakage to the surface. Final restoration of the cell can then be completed with the addition of layers of soil suitable for the re-establishment of flora and fauna.
The Group has completed many contracts for a variety of international companies in the waste management industry. Such contracts can involve the extraction of sand and aggregate products in order to provide new cells for landfill preparation.
