PryorMourik Ltd wins first contract at Parkway Luton for URS |
|
PryorMourik Ltd has been formed in partnership with the Dutch Company Mourik Groot Amers (Mourik) to secure work in the UK to remediate contaminated land for development. Mourik has 20 years experience in working in Europe employing a number of sophisticated techniques depending on the nature of contamination. They manufacture the plant to perform these processes themselves. We believe that with Pryor’s expertise in civils and earthmoving this partnership has great potential.
The Pryor contracting and plant hire businesses will continue to operate in their own right as usual where remediation processing is not an element.
We are please to announce that PryorMourik has secured its first contract to render safe this vacated petrol filling station that will take up to 3 years to complete. The majority of work is to extract hydrocarbons by a vacuum process from boreholes. |

The Pryor Group is pleased to confirm that they have been awarded the earthworks and importation of Class 2 material required on the above contract secured by Mowlem plc. We will be working closely with all parties to construct the safety improvements to this main traffic artery. We have been able to source imported material from the local area in line with our commitment to use materials with a low Environmental Impact in both the temporary and permanent works condition.
This project was added to the Targeted Programme of Improvements in 1998 after the Trunk Road Review, and set the following objective:-
A14 Rookery Crossroads - The improvement will increase road safety by provision of a two-level junction, carriageway re-allignment and closure of the central reserve gaps.
Reason for the works
-
The current section has substandard horizontal and vertical alignments, resulting in poor visibility and inadequate sight stopping distances.
-
There are three central reserve gaps permitting traffic to turn across the flow of traffic, each in locations where visibility is dangerously low.
-
There are numerous private means of access directly onto the A14.
-
To reduce the effects of severance and promote accessibility, particularly across the A14. |

You have to secure an area from unwanted vehicle incursion but you want to use the most environmentally sound methodology. At Pryor we provide you with the solution you desire. Please review the above sequence of photographs taken at Church Langley, Harlow, by recycling surplus clay that otherwise would go to inert tip as inert fill, and reusing the existing topsoil the above feature is truly "green". It uses no new products or materials and as time passes merges into the local environment . In addition this feature can be used for picnics and watching the football. |
